Windsurfing: Felixstowe Dip Wind Direction: SSE Wind Stength: F4 Surf / Sea State: Moderate Air Temperature: warm Sea Temperature: warm Weather: brilliant! Max Speed: 23.9 (knots - unless stated otherwise) Distance Covered: 16.3 (Nautical Miles - unless stated otherwise)
Best Session of the year for warmth and sun! arrived 4pm and readings were
15kts but Ian choose 7M which force me on 8.0 Hellcat/146L JP pro excite,
but to me it looked windy.
5 out on water at 5pm and great session. High tide made the sea moderate
and difficult thru the river, but planed hard most times but never really
maxed out and for once stayed out longer than Maker not stopping for 2hrs
except for minor adjustments. Tried to beat to Manor, noticing Swainey
tanking to windward - but wind eased a bit on the way so turned back.
Couldn't really get to Max speed as there were light wind periods but I was
always hooked in and in straps. Ian / Swainey went well, but Maker said too
light, but I think its his crap JP Slalom.
Wind freshened at 6.30 and had another nice sessions. Slammed the North
shoxs straight into river chop and yep it bottomed out nicely with the boom
hardly moving.
Played the river waves nicely only fluffing when wind dropped. The shoxs
suspension is def a nice product for levelling up chop. Used a 50cm race
fin which did not like the wavy stuff at all, and the boards refused point
blank to gybe strap to strap, so after the 4th attempt (falling in each
time) switched back to boring step gybes
Great session in sun but had appointment at 8 so quit early. Didn't really
get a decent speed on the GPS so could have used the 8.5 H2 Slalom sail but
hey gutless rotational water starts much easier!Bring on Friday
